Benefits of Provoke ligament knee brace

Advanced SLS 3D printed ligament knee brace

OssKin’s Provoke ligament knee brace is a revolutionary innovation to protect torn or deficient knee ligaments. It is designed to reproduce the natural movement of the knee, namely the axial rotation and screw-home mechanism of the knee, while offering maximum comfort and improved mobility for the patient.

OssKin takes customization to the next level using digital modelization and SLS 3D printing technology. Each brace is individually designed and 3D printed to fit the patient’s leg perfectly, offering a tailor-made solution.

One of the main features of the Provoke ligament knee brace is its construction in high-performance, aircraft-grade polyamide 2200. This material is known for its strength and durability, enabling the brace to withstand the demands of everyday forces, activities and provide long-lasting support.

A perfect fit for better healing

The Provoke ligament knee brace design process uses software-assisted design, ensuring a precise fit to the leg and customization enables the brace to adapt to all morphologies, offering a personalized fit and optimizing comfort and control.

The lightest knee brace on the market

Thanks to the polyamide powder and optimized design without compromising structural strength, the Provoke ligament knee brace is the lightest ligament knee brace on the market (10.5 OZ)

The brace features an ultra-flat structure (7-8 mm thick frame) that allows the brace to be worn under pants or a dress, making it less bulky and more discreet than traditional knee braces. This design offers the user greater freedom of movement without restriction.

AsymmotionTM Hinge System

One of the key features of the Provoke ligament knee brace is its ability to protect the deficient knee ligament in all three anatomical planes of motion (ie. sagittal, coronal, and tranverse) without causing collateral effects. This comprehensive protection ensures that the knee remains stable and supported during various movements and activities.

The brace incorporates OssKin’s patented AsymmotionTM hinge system, which is designed to follow the knee’s natural three-dimensional movement. This helicalTM hinge system allows the knee to move freely without being restricted by the brace, preserving the leg’s mobility and range of motion.

During the 3D modeling process, compression is applied to ensure a perfect orthotic fit. This compression eliminates any gaps between the leg and the brace, ensuring a perfect, secure fit. By eliminating these gaps, the Provoke knee brace effectively transfers valgum loads (forces that push the knee inwards) to the brace’s reinforced uprights. This force transfer provides instant resistance to the initial valgus load, improving stability and reducing the risk of injury.

The combination of the digitally designed, 3D-printed custom fit, the patented AsymmotionTM hinge system and efficient force transfer makes the Provoke knee brace a highly effective solution for people with deficient knee ligaments. Not only does it protect the knee, it also allows natural movement and provides a comfortable, secure fit without any collateral effects.

Elimination of orthotic migration

The 3D modeling process used to create the Provoke knee brace is crucial to achieving a secure fit and optimal functionality. Thanks to this process, the brace can be customized to take on an anterior triangular shape that adapts to the tibial region. This design allows the orthosis to grip and control the tibia securely, enhancing stability and reducing the risk of migration or displacement during patient movement and activity.

By providing better grip and control of the tibia and having a patented helical TM hinge system that tracks the axial rotation of the knee, the Provoke ligament knee orthosis minimizes the risk of tibial displacement or slippage during physical activities. This is essential to maintain correct alignment and support of the knee joint, as any migration of the brace could compromise its effectiveness in protecting and supporting the knee.

Overall, the combination of the Provoke knee brace’s Asymmotion hinge system, 3D modeling and anterior tibial cuff design offers a secure fit, improved tibial control and reliable knee protection.
